GROWING THE CROWN presents a vitrified form sealed within a clear plexiglass box, its
spired silhouette built from burned shards of glass. The crown appears to have grown rather
than been crafted—an accretion of sharp, luminous fragments that wound the body meant
to wear it. Vision is obstructed by blood and glare; power becomes a self-inflicted injury.
Imperial luxury is rendered absurd, its beauty inseparable from harm.
Conceived as an artifact exhumed from the future, the work crystallizes the pathological
logic of territorial expansion and fantasies of superiority. The sealed cube functions as a
memory capsule—irrefutable evidence of feudal ambition and its human cost. Formed from
the debris of ruined lives, the crown stands as a cold monument to domination without
empathy: a relic of an empire that mistook growth for greatness and adornment for destiny.
These crowns grew from millions of burned glass pieces in the first place, hurting and cutting their owner, who is not able to see through blood the absurdity of imperial luxury in a modern reality. This growing the crown process embodied pathological processes of growth of the territory of the empire and cultivating the idea of being a superior race.
Sealed in plastic cubes, they became a memory capsule representing physical and indisputable evidence of the cost of feudal ambitions.
Growing in the desire for endless domination, the crown of the heartless snow queen is made from the fragments of people’s ruined lives.
The series ENDLESS SHINE OF HUMAN VIOLENCE started on 24th February 2022 and aimed to capture the current crimes against humanity within the Russian war against Ukraine.
