ENDLESS SHINE OF HUMAN VIOLENCE is a site-specific sculptural lightbox embedded in the
ground, its illuminated surface sealed beneath walkable glass. Fragments collected from
occupied territories of Ukraine—shattered remnants, scorched materials, displaced
matter—are arranged like a wounded constellation, preserved yet exposed. The work glows
with an uneasy seduction: devastation rendered luminous, trauma reframed as spectacle.
What appears precious is, in fact, irreparable—violence transmuted into an object that
insists on being seen.
Installed as part of Una Boccata d’Arte, the piece operates as a quiet ritual of confrontation.
The viewer must lower their gaze, stepping onto the surface of catastrophe, participating in
a suspended act of burial without closure. Refusing erasure or repair, Kleytman preserves
damage as evidence, proposing violence not as an exception but as a persistent human
condition. Beneath the glass, destruction is neither hidden nor resolved—it shines,
accusingly, as both memorial and indictment.
“ENDLESS SHINE OF HUMAN VIOLENCE” REFLECTS A PRECIOUS AND GLITTERING PAIN TOGETHER WITH THE DESIRE TO RECONSTRUCT ONESELF WITHOUT ERASING ANYTHING, THE POETIC SYMBOL OF SUFFERING AS TANGIBLE AS IT IS DELICATE. ARTIFACTS ARE THE TRANSMUTATION OF DEVASTATION, THE ASCERTAINMENT OF A TRAGIC REALITY: VIOLENCE IS AN ATTITUDE THAT HAS ALWAYS CHARACTERIZED THE NATURE OF THE HUMAN BEING. THE WORK IS INTENDED TO BE A FURTHER REMINDER OF THIS TRUTH, AS WELL AS OF THE FACT THAT THE IMAGES OF DESTRUCTION ARE SO FRIGHTENING THAT WE WOULD DO ANYTHING NOT TO SEE THEM, TO REASSEMBLE THEM THROUGH THE OPENAIR BURIAL OF THESE TRANSFIGURED ARTIFACTS, THE ARTIST OPERATES A RITUAL GIVING A RENEWED VALUE TO THE OBJECTS THAT REVEAL THEMSELVES, AS SECRETS, TO THOSE WHO LOWER THEIR GAZE TO THE GROUND.
